Tequila by The Sporkful

If you do or don’t like Tequila: Like so many people, Dan was scarred by tequila at a young age, and hasn’t been able to drink it for years. Now, he sets out to overcome his aversion and learn to

Made this last night but: added a rosemary and garlic infused maple syrup to the tomato sauce along with leftover roast chicken. Served on a duck-fat blanched celery brunoise mixed with the leftover celeriac, roasted garlic, and potato mash. Recipe

Whist browsing around the internet, I found a blog that posted a link to La Mer, “I like La Mer” I thought, but visit their website? Why? Do I need to know smoked salmon is in season? But true to

Au Pied de Cochon McAuslan Brunch

This was not my first visit to this gastronomic wonderland. Much like when visiting a Six Flags, one can actually have “too much fun” in that slight queasy feeling one gets after the 14th roller-coaster ride. This was that –

Yes! Enjoyed a nice lunch at Bazin recently, too. The lemon basil tart was fantastic. I need to get back to Patrice again, too. What is your favourite there?

I'll check it out, I used to live in the area but now it's just a convenient drive away for lunch.
  • Seeking advice for Montreal & Quebec City "food destination vacation" September 17, 2017
Thank you! I decided to book Bouillon Bilk for our first night's dinner. Thanks for the recs. I had BB on my list but couldn't decide. I scanned many menus and finally settled on this. LordWilmore: I appreciate your comment re: Maison Boulud. It makes me wonder if I'm just boring, too! I don't know […]
  • Best pizzerias in the South Shore September 17, 2017
Any interesting pizzas in the South Shore the past few years? Doesn't need to authentic Neapolitan pizza or anything upscale(I've run out of pizza options that I know are pretty decent). Pizzeria Jacques that ScoobySnacks20 mentions, where is that? Or is he/she refering to Jacques Cartier Pizza?

  • Are there any good Doughnuts left in Montreal? September 15, 2017
Trou de beigne on Saint Zotique is my current favourite. Heard a lot about Cremý on Mont Royal, but they were a stodgy disappointment.
  • Argentinian pink shrimp at good price September 14, 2017
Thanks Jerk, and all! I thought that was a high price for a sale; I've also found them at IGA nearby (the one at the corner of St-Zotique and Boyer/St-André) much cheaper. The ones I wanted most were generic, not Marina del Rey, and cheaper. This is for a community association supper where I'm a […]
  • Entenmann's in Montreal? September 14, 2017
Gracias, JerkPork. I appreciate your suggestions. So far it seems that Dizz's is a one-off Montreal purveyor of Entenmann's. Unless someone can provide some more info....
  • zero chocolate bar? September 14, 2017
There is or was 3 Cool Zero bars milk and dark but also a white one I often bought the white one at London Drugs here in Canada. Like others said it seems to be a hard find in summer or warmer times of the year. There is also the other Zero bar too
